November 1997 with help of senior citizens of Tirupathi and Friend’s of SVIMS

As a President of Indian Epilepsy
Association, Tirupati Branch, lot of social activities for patients with
epilepsy are being organized in the form of conducting epilepsy camps since
1997. Since February 1999, on every 3rd
Sunday of the month, started also on every 1st Sunday of the month
in view of the increasing the patient load.
400-550 patients are treated and given drugs in this camp. So far
230 camps are conducted as on November
2017
National epilepsy day is organized every
year. Patients with epilepsy are
motivated for painting, essay and elecution competitions. Street plays are also organized for patients
and their relatives to create awareness that epilepsy is curable and that there
is no place for superstitions and that they are very much fit for normal family
life. Awareness is also is being created
about epilepsy among public and school children. With continuous efforts, regular anti
epileptic drugs are received from USA through AMERI CARES organization.

- Organised “Brain Awareness Week” for public
from 10th – 17th April 2006 and delivered guest
lectures on “Parkinsonism”, “Alzheimer’s Disease”, “Neurosurgical
techniques & Epilepsy” etc.

from April 2006 -2007.
- Organised Celebrations of the 100th
Special Monthly Camp for persons with Epilepsy on 20th May
2007. Around 600 people with
Epilepsy were given free drugs.
Organised cultural activities, competitions on Rangoli, Painting
for patients and provided Lunch for all of them
- Organised
“National Epilepsy Day” Celebrations on 16th – 17th
November 2008 along with 118th monthly camp for persons with
epilepsy. Epilepsy awareness programmes were organized by students of
college of Nursing in the form of folklore
single of story telling called Burrakatha and a Skit at dispel the myth and superstitions about epilepsy. On 17th November,2008 Essay and Elocution
competition were held on the topic
“Epilepsy – My Perspective” followed by Guest lectures Epilepsy- 1st Management by
Prof.B.Vengamma, President, Indian Epilepsy Association
- As a
token of 10 years of selfless
service to epilepsy patients, 120th epilepsy camp was conducted
with grandeur on 18th January, 2009.
- Till now epilepsy
camps were regularly conducted uninterruptedly on every First and third
Sunday since Feb 1999 for 190 months, earlier monthly on every third
Sunday ,since july 2013 monthly twice ,first and third Sunday of every
month in view of increasing number patients to a total of 220 monthly camps as of Dec 2016

2015. Around 600 people with
Epilepsy were given free drugs.
